50 Cent Urges Peace as Nicki Minaj & Cardi B Feud Explodes Online

Hip-hop mogul 50 Cent, a man whose career has been marked by legendary rap feuds, is surprisingly stepping into a new role: peacemaker. The Queens-born rapper weighed in on the escalating social media clash between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B, urging the two women to put an end to their war of words before it spirals out of control.

“I hope the girls stop fighting before things escalate,” 50 wrote in an Instagram post on Thursday, October 2. “I read some of the shit they are saying to each other and this is not gonna end well.”

The comment sparked a mix of laughter and concern in the comments section, with one fan joking, “If 50 is the voice of reason, you know it’s gone too far.”

Nicki vs. Cardi: Round Infinity

The latest flare-up began after Cardi B dropped her new album, Am I the Drama?, earlier this week. Nicki Minaj wasted no time throwing shade, mocking the project’s discounted price and sharing an edited image of Cardi as Barney the purple dinosaur. She even ridiculed Cardi’s rhyme schemes, tweeting a parody verse that taunted her rival’s chart performance.

Cardi fired back by branding Nicki “Cocaine Barbie” and mocking her sales numbers compared to megastars like Drake, Rihanna, and Taylor Swift. What followed was a brutal exchange of insults that went far beyond music, touching on family, children, pregnancies, and personal struggles.

By Wednesday, however, tensions cooled slightly when Cardi posted a long message urging Nicki to seek therapy, pointing to childhood trauma and “toxic cycles” as factors fueling their ongoing rivalry.

Collateral Damage: Ice Spice & Latto

As if the feud wasn’t messy enough, leaked audio from last summer allegedly captured Cardi threatening Ice Spice during a phone call with her manager, James Rosemond Jr. In the clip, Cardi compares herself to Latto, suggesting she wouldn’t be disrespected in the same way.

Ice Spice responded indirectly by previewing a track titled “Pretty Privilege,” where she appeared to take aim at an unnamed rival:
“She might talk shit on the ’gram, but she won’t talk shit to my face / Poser, she hear my song and copy everything I say.”

Latto’s name also surfaced in the drama, pulling more female rap stars into the ongoing storm.

Why 50’s Words Matter

For many fans, 50 Cent’s intervention is telling. Known for high-profile beefs with Ja Rule, The Game, and others, he rarely plays the peacekeeper. His attempt to calm things down signals just how toxic the Nicki–Cardi feud has become.

“50 has made a career off conflict,” one fan posted on X. “If even he’s telling y’all to chill, that says everything.”

The Bigger Picture

While rap beef has always been part of hip-hop’s DNA, critics argue this latest chapter has crossed a line, overshadowing music with personal attacks. Both Nicki and Cardi remain dominant forces in the genre, but their inability to bury the hatchet—or at least keep it lyrical—has divided fans and raised questions about the future of female rap unity.
